Add some fruity sass to any outfit with the Orchard Beret. Whether you go for a juicy red apple, a plump orange pumpkin, a tasty green pear or a zesty yellow lemon, you’ll feel as cute as can be in your cable cap.

Yarn and Tools.
You will need a 4mm hook (or size needed to meet gauge), a 3.5mm hook (or 0.5mm smaller than your main hook), approx. 80 g / 240 m of MC DK yarn, a small amount of CC DK yarn for your stalk and leaf, a needle, scissors, and a tape measure.
I used Cygnet DK in Cherry (1252) for my apple beret, Stylecraft Special DK in Clementine (1853) for my pumpkin / orange beret, and James C Brett Shhh DK in Tangerine Surprise (SH13) for my peach beret.
Notes and Tips.
Your hat is worked in joined, unturned rounds with RS facing throughout. Turning ch2 does not count as a st. Pull your FPtr sts to the height of a dc to prevent your work from puckering.
There are 3 brim sizes, but the main beret is worked the same throughout for every size.
Your hat will measure 26cm at widest point.
S (M, L) will measure 46cm (50cm, 55cm) at brim.
18 sts x 8 rounds = 10cm. Measure your hat at the end of round 9 to check your tension and change hook size if needed.
